The Chester County Community Foundation generously donated $2,000 to North Star of Chester County to provide grocery gift cards for the families in our program. No family should experience food insecurity. The ongoing pandemic has created additional challenges for the communities we serve, which is why we are so grateful to receive this additional assistance.
$1,000 has already been distributed to the families in our program with more on the way. This spring, we provided every family with a grocery gift card so they could be with their families and enjoy dinner, at home, together. While more vaccines are administered, dining out continues to be an activity with which many families are uncomfortable. Access to groceries and providing food at home not only keeps parents and children fed but, during COVID-19, keeps them safer.
